Transport is an essential link in Van der Windt’s business chain.
Therefore environmentally responsible techniques are the top priority when it comes to selecting new lorries. When replacing lorries we made a deliberate choice for vehicles fitted with ‘clean’ Euro 5 engines and as our fleet includes a total of 20 lorries this is a saving that adds up very quickly.
Continuously increasing transportation efficiency reduces the number of kilometres driven and our drivers have received supplementary fuel economy training. By the end of 2011 every one of our drivers must have followed the ‘New Way of Driving’ course.
The choice of economical cars, such as hybrid vehicles, is actively encouraged and all the CO2 emissions from our vehicle fleet, as well as our employees’ journey from home to the office and back are neutralized.
